Night Porter - Lakeside Hotel
About Us:
We’re proud to be part of Classic Lodges – a collection of eight characterful hotels set in some of the UK’s most captivating destinations. Each of our hotels has its own personality, but we’re united by one shared purpose.
Our purpose is simple and powerful: to create meaningful experiences that connect people, places, and memory.
That means we don’t just offer stays, we create moments that matter. Whether it’s a relaxing escape, a special celebration, or a memorable business event, we focus on the details that turn stays into stories our guests will always remember.
If you’re someone who takes pride in what you do, values genuine hospitality, and wants to be part of a team that makes a real difference to every guest experience, you’ll feel right at home with us.
The Opportunity:
As a Night Porter, you will play a vital role in the smooth running and security of the hotel during the night. Acting as the main point of contact for guests outside of normal operating hours, you'll help ensure our guests enjoy a safe, comfortable, and welcoming stay from arrival through to departure.
This varied position combines guest service, security, housekeeping support, and operational duties, making it ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, and working independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Welcoming late-arriving guests and assisting with check-ins and guest enquiries.
Ensuring the safety and security of guests, colleagues, and hotel property throughout the night.
Carrying out regular security and fire safety checks across the hotel.
Assisting with guest requests promptly and professionally.
Setting up conference and event spaces as required for the following day.
Completing night cleaning duties in public areas and ensuring the hotel remains well presented.
Supporting other hotel departments where required.
Preparing the hotel for the morning team, including administrative and operational tasks.
Reporting maintenance issues and ensuring they are logged appropriately.
Maintaining high standards of guest service at all times.
What We’re Looking For:
We believe in recruiting for potential as well as experience. Our ideal candidate will have:
A reliable, trustworthy, and professional individual.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
The confidence to work independently and make decisions when required.
A proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
A calm and professional manner when dealing with guest requests or unexpected situations.
