We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes while ensuring that food safety standards are met. This role is perfect for individuals looking to grow their culinary skills in a dynamic kitchen environment, where teamwork and hospitality are paramount.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes as per the chef’s specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety regulations.
  • Support senior chefs in food production and presentation, ensuring high standards are met.
  • Help supervise kitchen staff and assist with training new team members.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Participate in inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Contribute to menu development by providing feedback on dishes and suggesting improvements.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; a passion for food preparation is key.
  • Strong understanding of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership qualities with a willingness to help supervise and mentor junior staff members.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with team members.
  • A desire to learn and develop within the hospitality industry, with a focus on culinary excellence.

Live Out Position, but will consider Live In for suitable candidate.

Expected hours: 8 hour shifts, 40 hours per week over 5 days to include weekends.

As second chef, you will be required to run the kitchen shift, responsible for food hygiene standards on shift and deliver great food and work as part of a kitchen and hotel team.

What We’re Looking For:

  2. Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 3 preferred).
  3. Demonstrate the required standard of food preparation and production.
  4. Demonstate good knowledge of allergen food management
  5. Co-operative and able to work as part of the kitchen and hotel team.
  6. Passionate about food and delivering a positive customer experience.
